As we have now officially started the holiday season, this is a good time to review the school calendar and make sure that you know when the breaks occur. Our Thanksgiving break will be Wednesday November 25-Friday November 27th, and our Winter Break will be Monday December 21st-Friday January 1st. While we support and encourage family time during the holiday season, please resist the temptation to extend these scheduled breaks.

Toledo Elementary School's Rotary Student of the Month: Rowan Kinney

Respect means valuing others, recognizing their contributions, and understanding that our actions can make a difference in the lives of those around us. October's Rotary Student of the Month exemplifies that character trait!

Nominated by Ms. Mignano, Rowan Kinney consistently demonstrated respect during his Walk to Read block by recognizing that both his learning and his partner’s learning were equally important. Through collaboration, encouragement, and a willingness to support his partner, Rowan helped create an environment where everyone could learn, grow, and succeed.

He reminds us that respect goes beyond simply being kind. It means recognizing the value of others and taking responsibility for contributing to their success.

Congratulations to our Toledo Boomer, Rowan Kinney! Rowan was honored at the Rotary Club meeting in October. When asked how he would invest in his community if money were no object, his answer was simple and powerful: He would invest in his school!

We are proud of Rowan for representing the very best of Toledo Elementary. Thank you for reminding us that when we invest in one another, our entire community grows stronger!

We hope that everybody got some extra rest over this long weekend! Having two short weeks in a row can make maintaining school routines difficult. Parents can help support their little learners by having consistent bedtime routines, even on non school nights, and a solid morning routine to help students get up and get moving before school. If you are needing help with developing these kinds of routines, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher. We have lots of resources and are happy to share!

Congratulations, Mr. Limbert’s 3rd Grade Class!

Mr. Limbert’s homeroom achieved the highest regular attender rate in September at an impressive 94%! Their commitment to showing up earned them a well-deserved incentive and, of course, some serious bragging rights!

If you have a third grader in Mr. Limbert’s class, give them a high-five! Every student is part of this wonderful equation, and their daily presence makes a difference.

💙💛 At Toledo Elementary, every day counts, and every Boomer matters! Way to go, Boomers!

There is no school this Friday, October 9th, due to teacher inservice. This is a great day to schedule a doctor's appointment, run errands to the valley, or enjoy a trip to the pumpkin patch. Taking advantage of non-school days to schedule these kinds of events helps your student maintain regular attendance. Keeping a copy of the school calendar handy, helps when scheduling appointments. You can find a copy of the LCSD 2026-2027 School Calendar here for your reference.

Toledo Boomers,

You asked, and we listened! 💙💛

One of the requests we heard through our survey feedback was for an easier way to see what’s on the school lunch menu. Good news: there’s an app for that!

You can use the NutriSlice App to view the school menu and get real-time updates about what is being served for lunch.

🍎 Download the NutriSlice App
🍎 Follow the instructions provided
🍎 Select Toledo Elementary School
🍎 Check the menu anytime to see what’s for lunch!

This gives families and students an easy way to stay up to date, including changes to the menu.

Thank you for giving us feedback and helping us make things better for our Toledo Boomers!

💙💛 You asked. We listened. Now let’s eat!
